Texas Longhorns catcher Rylan Galvan, right, and Will Gasparino each homered in the first game of a doubleheader against Oklahoma on Sunday. Gasparino added another home run in the second win for the Longhorns on the day.

While recording 8-6 and 12-10 victories, Texas homered eight times over the course of a doubleheader at Oklahoma's L. Dale Mitchell Park on Sunday. With that doubleheader sweep of the 18th-ranked Sooners, Texas secured its sixth Big 12 series win.

The Longhorns have now won 13 of their 21 Big 12 games. Oklahoma, which remains the Big 12's first-place team, has a 15-6 mark in its conference contests.

Oklahoma State and West Virginia both are both 14-7 in conference play.

Due to Saturday's weather forecast, Texas and Oklahoma were forced to play twice on Sunday. That gave UT two opportunities to respond to OU's 9-4 win in Friday's series opener.

In the first half of Sunday's doubleheader, Texas snapped a five-game losing streak against its Red River rival. Heading into the sixth inning of that game, Texas trailed 5-4, but the Longhorns seized control of the scoreboard behind Kimble Schuessler and Will Gasparino's solo homers and a bases-loaded walk that was drawn by Peyton Powell.

After wrapping up that two-run triumph, Texas wasn't done hitting home runs.

Texas went deep six times in the second game of the doubleheader. Five of those homers were two-run shots. Max Belyeu homered twice in the game and Powell, Gasparino, Casey Borba and Rylan Galvan also blasted Oklahoma pitching.

Those six home runs tied a single-game record at UT. Texas has now had six six-homer games in its 129-year history. One of the previous power surges occurred this past Tuesday against UT-Arlington.

Sunday's second game was called after the seventh inning because of weather.

Texas will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Sam Houston State. Oklahoma State is set to visit UFCU Disch-Falk Field next weekend.
